This February, The Sportsman’s Gallery will unveil one of its most innovative exhibitions to date: Perspectives, a collaborative series that unites three longtime gallery artists—painters Paul Puckett and Mark Susinno, and sculptor John Kobald—for a multi-layered exploration of angling moments. Conceived by gallery owner Michael Paderewski in partnership with the artists—whom he describes as “all friends and associates,”—Perspectives presents three fishing encounters seen from above, below and beyond the water’s surface.

For more than 25 years, The Sportsman’s Gallery, Ltd. and Paderewski Fine Art have been a trusted destination for sporting and wildlife art collectors across the country. Founded by avid outdoorsman Michael Paderewski in 1998, the gallery has built a reputation for presenting the finest works spanning 19th-century sporting scenes to contemporary wildlife, as well as Southern Regionalists, Western art, American Impressionists, European masters, and more.

“We are proud to be known as the top bird-dog for locating and procuring exactly what our clients are seeking,” adds Gallery Director, Cari Adamski. “We have something for every taste and at every price point. Our gallery brings together the most respected artists in the field with a carefully curated selection you won’t find elsewhere. We are happy to guide clients through the entire acquisition process, including collection management, conservation and installation.”

The fishing scenes in Perspectives—ranging from bonefishing and redfishing to trout waters—offer three distinct interpretations of angling moments. Each series will be sold as a set, allowing collectors to experience the full dramatic arc of each encounter.

“It’s an interesting way to look into the creative process,” says Paderewski. He notes that the gallery’s goal is not to dictate meaning but to highlight artistic diversity. “It is not our intention to shape a viewer’s thought,” he explains. “It is more of a way to show the unique perspectives in how artists view the same subject.”

All three participating artists have exhibited with the Charleston gallery for nearly two decades, making this collaboration a natural evolution of longstanding relationships. And if early enthusiasm is any indication, Perspectives may become a model for future mixed-medium exhibitions. “We would love to create similar exhibitions if the reception is as strong as we hope,” Paderewski says.

Perspectives debuts during SEWE weekend, offering collectors and visitors a rare chance to witness one moment interpreted three ways—and to rediscover the artistry within the sport.
