Rooted Bottle Market & Bar owner, kevin Regan, understands something many wine lovers sense but rarely articulate: wine isn’t just an expression of place—it’s an experience shaped by where you drink it. The right glass in the right setting can turn an ordinary evening into a memory, a casual sip into a discovery. That philosophy sits at the heart of Rooted, his welcoming wine bar and bottle shop in Mount Pleasant, where small producers, family-owned estates, and organically grown wines take center stage.
Rooted is an upscale-casual space built for conversation, questions, and one more pour. Here, wine education feels warm and accessible. Guests can enjoy charcuterie boards, flatbreads and small bites, and explore a thoughtful draft and retail beer selection.
Every Tuesday, drop in for free wine tastings from 5-7 p.m., featuring three wines. Wednesdays belong to Flight Night, with a sommelier-curated lineup. On the first Saturday of each month, stop by for a farmers and community market in their adjacent parking lot that Kevin launched last year.

Gorro Loureiro Vinho Verde, Lima Valley, Portugal
Grape: 100% Loureiro.
Style: Serious, textured Vinho Verde with striking depth and concentration. Dry-leaning Riesling fans, take note.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of baked apple, apricot, honeysuckle, herbs and saline. Round on the palate, coating the mouth with pineapple, lime and fresh herbs.
Pairing: Versatile. Try it with Thai or Indian curries, grilled or roasted lighter proteins.
Gundlach Bundschu Dry Gewürztraminer, Sonoma, California
Grape: 100% Gewürztraminer.
Style: A bone-dry crisp white.
Tasting Notes: Orange blossom, tropical fruit on the nose. Taste of grapefruit and yuzu lead into subtle hints of baking spice, followed by pineapple and guava, with a finish of tamarind.
Pairing: Brunch classics, Thanksgiving dinner, sushi, chicken tikka masala, sausages with kraut.
Jonathan Didier Pabiot, “Aubaine” Pouilly-Fumé, Loire Valley, France
Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Style: Famous single-vineyard wine with aromas that pop out of the glass and a zesty structure.
Tasting Notes: Flint and yellow stone fruit with almond and marjoram undertones. On the palate: riper citrus notes of pink grapefruit and a touch of ripe pear.
Pairing: The extra flint and underlying smoke, makes it great with heartier oily white fish, and a contrast to creamy soups. Also, wonderful sipped by itself.
Raúl Pérez, Ultreia Godello, Bierzo, Spain
Grape: 100% Godello.
Style: Creamy, with a rich body, enlivened by brisk acidity. Fresh, long finish.
Tasting Notes: An expressive nose, with a bit of flowers, hints of apple, dried orange peel and acacia. Rich body with tropical fruit, brisk acidity and a long, clean finish.
Pairing: Risottos, rice dishes, sushi, pasta dishes with a cream sauce and lighter proteins.
