Colour of Music

May 1 & 2

Colour of Music Festival Inc., is the country’s largest Black classical music organization. It is headquartered in Charleston, S.C., showcasing gifted classical composers and performers of African descent. This free performance presented by the City of North Charleston will showcase a Baroque giant and 20th century Black composers.

Charleston Gallery Association Art Wak

May 2 & June 6

Experience the Charleston Gallery Association Artwalk with over 40 art galleries participating. Discover the vibrant art scene of Charleston and indulge in the delightful festivities of our First Friday ArtWalks! Mark your calendars for the first Friday of each month, from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m., and join us for an immersive experience. This event is free.

Moonlight Mixers

May 2 & June 6

Dance the night away under the stars at the Folly Beach Pier during one of our Moonlight Mixers! Advance tickets are $10 per person. Day-of tickets are $15 per person if the event hasn't sold out. On-site tickets, if available, will only be sold via credit card. Children 3 and under are free and do not require a ticket. Events are held 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Yoga on the Ashley

Join us for the last yoga session in the series overlooking the majestic historic oaks on the Ashley River. This is a unique opportunity to experience America’s oldest landscaped gardens like never before. The talented Tashi Marshall will lead you through a powerful and reflective 60-minute session followed by general admission access to Middleton Place. All proceeds will directly benefit the mission of the Middleton Place Foundation to connect with the past while inspiring the future. This is a 60-minute all-levels class.

Turkish Lamp Workshop

It's time to unlock your imagination and tap into the world of art. Learn the ancient techniques of this 500-year-old craft. Lay tiles with precision, create mesmerizing geometric patterns and craft your very own Turkish mosaic lamp. Indulge your senses with our delightful Turkish tea service, accompanied by delicious treats and homemade Turkish shortbread cookies.

Sweetgrass Basket-Making Workshop

May 10

Join local artisan Sarah Edwards-Hammond for in-depth instruction on sweetgrass basketry which has been an integral part of the Lowcountry’s Gullah Geechee community since the 17th century. Edwards-Hammond comes from a long line of basket makers and has passed down the tradition to her family and others in the community. She will share a brief history of the artisanal craft of basket making. Participants will then spend the remainder of the class making their own basket guided by Edwards-Hammond. Space is limited. Dancing on the Cooper

May 16 & June 13

Dancing on the Cooper is held at the end of the Mount Pleasant Pier. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the event ends at 10 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 per person. A Cup of History at Drayton Hall

May 17

Join us at Drayton Hall for what is sure to be an unforgettable teatime! Learn about the history of tea, taste prized teas produced in China using centuries-old traditional methods and experience Cha Dao, The Way of Tea. This one-of-a-kind program begins with a guided tour of Drayton Hall and the Gates Gallery with curator Amber Satterthwaite, emphasizing tea and social traditions of the Draytons and their peers in 18th century South Carolina. Then, enjoy an engaging presentation on tea history and culture, from Colonial America to ancient China and a tea tasting led by tea expert Richard Kligler of For All the Tea in Charleston.

Charleston Riverdogs: Run Charlie 5k

May 18

Join the excitement at the Charleston RiverDogs: Run Charlie Run 5K on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina! This vibrant 3.1-mile race kicks off in front of the iconic Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park and offers a thrilling finish at home plate, where runners will be greeted by RiverDogs players. Participants will benefit from split times at each mile and water stations to keep everyone hydrated. Make sure to pick up your race packet and event shirt on Friday, May 16, or on race day before the fun begins. All in-person registrants will enjoy not just the race, but also a RiverDogs game e-ticket, two post-race drinks and a custom finisher medal.

Piccolo Spoleto Festival

Keith Urban in Concert

Keith Urban is the four-time Grammy award-winning, country-pop star who has collaborated and performed with artists like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, P!NK, Miranda Lambert, Alicia Keys and The Rolling Stones, among others. Urban’s ear for pop earned him a spot as a judge on American Idol from 2012 to 2016. Catch him May 24 at the Credit One Stadium

Barenaked Ladies in Concert

Over the course of 35 years, the beloved quartet has sold over 15 million records worldwide and built up an arsenal of hits such as "If I Had $1,000,000," "One Week," "Pinch Me" and "The Big Bang Theory Theme." Widely acknowledged as one of the best live acts on the planet, BNL has hosted a cruise, had their own Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor and participated in the first-ever “space-to-earth musical collaboration” with astronaut Chris Hadfield. The performance will be at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Cars & Coffee

June 21

Arrive in your favorite ride or stop by the Village Green in Kiawah’s Freshfields Village to browse unique, antique and other cool cars at our monthly Cars & Coffee! Coffee and breakfast will be available for purchase at Java Java. The event will take place on the third Saturday of each month from February to September.

Carolina Day

June 28

Carolina Day is the annual commemoration of the Battle of Sullivan's Island that occurred on June 28, 1776. Fort Moultrie hosts Carolina Day events annually on the Saturday closest to June 28. During this weekend, the park hosts living historians, historic weapons demonstrations, ranger programs and other activities. Bring the whole fam!. ϒ
