Today’s homes are evolving beyond defined rooms and rigid categories, embracing open-air spaces as natural extensions of interior living. It’s less about where furniture belongs and more about how people want to feel: relaxed, connected, and comfortably refined.
That philosophy defines Realm Open Air Living, where founder Elizabeth Archangeli curates furnishings designed for the spaces in between. Pieces that move effortlessly from sunroom to terrace, from coastal retreat to collected interior.
Archangeli began designing furniture while searching for pieces for her own home that balanced sophistication with ease. When she discovered the Belgian Pearls collection, designed by Greet Lefevre for Defleure, she immediately recognized the beauty and versatility of its handmade rattan craftsmanship. Realm Open Air has the exclusive distribution rights to the collection in the United States.
“Natural rattan has an incredible history,” says Archangeli. “It’s both humble and luxurious at the same time. Dress up a European winter garden or a coastal retreat, or add warmth to an interior by creating a living environment that connects with nature.”
That tactile connection is increasingly resonating with homeowners craving interiors that feel more human and layered. Rattan, with its organic texture and timeless character, offers a softness that bridges architecture and environment.
“I believe we’ll continue to see a blending of categories,” Archangeli says. “Furniture that moves fluidly between indoors and outdoors, with materials that age beautifully, in spaces designed for slower, more connected living.”
At Realm Open Air Living, the goal is not simply furnishing a home but shaping an atmosphere where elegance feels
effortless, and the outdoors is never an afterthought, but part of the conversation itself. Stay tuned for the launch of their own designed collection coming this September.
